The stage director Laurent Pelly and the conductor Alain Altinoglu give us their insight of THE GOLDEN COCKEREL and the way it helped them shape their individual and collective artistic work.

One of the most interesting aspects of THE GOLDEN COCKEREL is probably its double dimension: both magical and satirical, burlesque and political, this opera cultivates the art of double picturing in order to conjure up a reality that is all the more absurd. Alain Altinoglu stresses that how Laurent Pelly is the ideal director to depict such ambivalence, as his work is flamboyant, eccentric and lucid.
